Ottawa’s 2026 Municipal Election will take place onOctober 26, 2026, but voters do not have to wait until Election Day.
The City of Ottawa has scheduled several opportunities to vote in person:
- Special Advance Voting Days: October 1 to October 4
- Advance Voting Day: October 16
- Election Day: October 26
The Special Advance Voting Days offer additional flexibility by allowing voters to cast their ballot at any voting location across the City, regardless of their home address. On October 16 and October 26, voters will cast their ballot at their assigned voting location within their ward. For an older adult who may find Election Day busy, tiring or difficult to plan around, voting early may be a more convenient option.
Check Your Information Before the Deadline
One of the simplest things voters can do now is make sure their information on Ottawa’s Voters’ List is correct. The City’s online revision period runs from September 1 to September 20, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. During this time, eligible voters can check whether they are registered and verify, add or amend their voter information.
